Advising Guidelines

International Programs recommends that all students meet with their academic advisors to discuss the selection of a study abroad program. With recommendations from the academic advisor the student will know if specific courses requirements need to be met while on a study abroad program, how long a student can be abroad and meet degree requirements (semester, full year or summer terms) and the ideal term to be away from Puget Sound. Students should meet with their academic advisors often during the selection of study abroad program process.

Making an Appointment with International Programs Advisors

Prior to meeting with the advisor in International Programs, students are asked to complete the Initial Inquiry Form. This form can be dropped off in International Programs at the time of scheduling an appointment time or brought to the office at the time of the meeting. Students must also have a copy of their unofficial transcript (you can obtain a copy of the unofficial transcript in the Registrar's Office, Jones Hall 013) at the time of the advising meeting.

Scheduling a meeting in International Programs:

Come by International Programs during our regular business hours and sign up on the advising calendar for an appointment time. Please allow approximately 45 minutes for your appointment.
