Each year the percentage of Puget Sound graduates who have participated in an international program during their undergraduate career has increased. It is likely that your daughter/son will also consider being a part of the study abroad alumni group.

The journey that your student will take in planning and selecting a study abroad program will be as important as the experience itself. The programs offered are numerous and students must explore all the options and select the program that is best suited for their academic and personal needs. Students must also prepare for any pre-requisites and seek advice from their faculty advisors, the international programs staff and peer advisors. As a parent, you are also a very important part of the advising team. During the study abroad process, parents are sent letters from the director of international programs and students are encouraged to keep their families informed of their plans. The staff in international programs is always available to answer your questions and encourages families to contact the office.
