Scholarships

Puget Sound’s scholarship program is composed of a variety of University scholarships that are funded by tuition revenue, endowment earnings, and gifts. Part of every tuition dollar goes to support Puget Sound scholarship programs. Additionally, many scholarships and grants are provided through the financial commitments of University of Puget Sound alumni and friends.

The majority of Puget Sound scholarships are offered to undergraduates at the point of admission to the university and are subsequently renewed provided students meet the renewal criteria and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Continuing undergraduate students are encouraged to complete the University Scholarship Application so that they can be considered for new scholarship opportunities that may become available during subsequent years of enrollment.

A primary factor in maintaining support for University of Puget Sound scholarships is the relationship that students build with their scholarship donors.  If a student is fortunate enough to have received a scholarship with a donor contact, the congratulatory letter they receive will include the donor’s name and a brief background about the scholarship.

When a student receives a scholarship with a donor contact, the University asks that they promptly express their appreciation by writing a thank you letter to the donor.  Our donors are proud of the talented and deserving students who have received their scholarships in the past, and they look forward to learning about student’s accomplishments, goals, and dreams.

The Department of Donor Relations plans two annual Scholarship Luncheons each spring.  These gatherings are a student’s opportunity to meet and personally thank their scholarship donors.  If a donor is able to attend one of the luncheons, students will receive an invitation to the event.
