Community Music The Community Music Department of the School of Music at Puget Sound is a year-round program which provides non-credit musical instruction to students of all ages and skill levels. Community Music offers opportunities for those who aspire to careers in music as well as for those who seek musical instruction purely for artistic fulfillment. Motivation and interest are the only entrance requirements.
Community Music Programs Community Music provides a wide variety of programs including both individual instruction and group activities. Programs are structured to allow students to participate at their own levels.
Community Music Faculty Central to the success of Community Music is an outstanding faculty of professional educators. The department proudly brings together the area's finest teachers and artists. Many Community Music instructors also serve as University of Puget Sound professors and affiliate artists.

KindermusikCommunity Music Students Community Music currently serves over 500 students weekly through classes and lessons. Our student body is very diverse. Participation is open to all persons regardless of age, gender, race, religion, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation or aptitude. Our youngest Kindermusik student is 18 months old and our oldest student is 92 years young. Our students also represent a broad geographic area. Some Community Music students are neighbors who walk to campus; some are Puget Sound students who live on campus, while others commute distances that require two hours or more. RegistrationStudents may register in person or by mail. Need-based financial aid is available for all Community Music programs.
